What an amazing week for our youngest Mary M. Knight OWLS! Our K-3rd grade students had the incredible opportunity to visit the Hands On Children's Museum in Olympia, and we couldn't be more excited to share this experience with you all!
A Day of Discovery and Learning
Our primary students dove headfirst into hands-on learning experiences that brought science, technology, engineering, art, and math to life! Throughout their visit, our OWLS:
✨ Explored interactive exhibits that sparked curiosity and wonder
✨ Participated in STEAM workshops that got them thinking, creating, and problem-solving
✨ Created unique artwork in the Arts & Parts Studio to bring home and share with their families
✨ Engaged with exhibits aligned with Washington State Learning Standards
Why This Matters
As a small, rural school district with 185 students K-12, every field trip is precious. Opportunities like this allow our students to experience the world beyond our community, engage with new ideas, and learn through doing in ways that complement the strong foundation we're building in our classrooms every day.

We’re excited to kick off our winter season with high school wrestling — open to both female and male athletes!
Practice Details:
📅 Start Date: Monday, November 17th
🕒 Time: 3:15 PM – 5:30 PM
📍 Location: Weight Room
What to Bring:
Wrestling shoes (If you cannot afford a pair, please see Shantel in the District Office for assistance.)
Practice clothes: mid-length shorts and a t-shirt — not too big or baggy.
No jewelry may be worn during practice.
Transportation:
Students will need to arrange their own transportation home after practice.
We’re looking forward to an awesome start to the season and can’t wait to see our student-athletes on the mat!

What a meaningful and memorable Veterans Day Assembly we had at Mary M. Knight! Our school came together today to honor and thank the veterans in our community, and it was truly a special celebration.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to our guest color guard for opening our ceremony with such dignity and respect. Your presence set the perfect tone for our tribute.
To the veterans who joined us today and all those who have served our country - thank you for your service, sacrifice, and dedication. Your courage and commitment to protecting our freedoms does not go unnoticed, and our MMK community is grateful beyond words.
Each of our grades did an outstanding job with their presentations, showcasing their understanding and appreciation for what our veterans have done for our nation. It was wonderful to see our students from kindergarten through 12th grade come together to honor those who have served.
Thank you to our MMK community members who joined us for this special assembly - your support means so much to our students and staff.
