Dear Families,
We are writing to inform you of transportation disruptions affecting our school today due to localized flooding and storm damage in our area.
As a result of current road conditions, our transportation department is unable to access all regular bus routes. The River Haven neighborhood will be serviced by our designated flood routes throughout the entire day. Additionally, buses on other routes may experience significant delays as drivers navigate alternate paths and road closures.
We appreciate your patience and flexibility during these challenging conditions. The safety of our students remains our top priority, and we will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day.
Thank you for your understanding.

π International Food Day at MMK! π
Today we served gyro beef bowls, giving students a taste of global cuisine! The bowls featured seasoned beef served over rice and spinach, with the option to top it off with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. On the side, students enjoyed hummus and tzatziki sauce, adding even more flavor to the meal.
Gyros have their roots in Greece, where they are traditionally made with meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie and served in pita bread with fresh vegetables and creamy tzatziki. Over time, the flavors of gyros have been enjoyed around the world, and todayβs bowl-style version was a delicious way to celebrate that rich cultural background.
π¬ A sweet bonus today! π¬
A special treat was also served β house-made candied cranberries, completely prepared in our kitchen. Candied cranberries balance sweet and tart flavors. They were a wonderful dessert and the perfect ending to a great meal!
It was a fantastic International Food Day, and we loved sharing both culture and flavor with our students!
