We did another Breakfast for Lunch day, featuring homemade biscuits and scratch-made gravy—and it was a hit! 🥐🍽️ The students absolutely loved it. Nothing beats a comforting, homemade meal!

Today our students enjoyed a meal made with fresh ingredients from start to finish. We served sweet corn on the cob—shucked and cooked to perfection—alongside homemade beef patties, crispy fries, and our fresh salad bar.
One of the best parts? Students loved comparing their burgers and noticing that no two patties looked the same—handmade work at its finest! 👏

Yesterday for lunch, we tried something new—Teriyaki Chicken Nachos topped with homemade coleslaw! 😋 Everyone seemed to enjoy them, but we learned one important lesson: if you didn’t eat them fast enough, the sauce made the chips a little soggy. Lesson learned! Next time, we’re hoping to try them with wontons to see if that helps.

Swim Lesson Reminder 🏊♀️ (Grades K–3)
Swim lessons for grades K–3 will take place Tuesday, January 13 through Friday, January 16.
Students will need a swimsuit, towel, and a bag to place wet items in after lessons.
We will depart the school at 11:45 a.m. and return around 2:45 p.m. Students will receive lunch before leaving for swim lessons.
You may also want to pack a small snack for the ride home, as swimming can make us extra hungry!

This week’s kitchen experiments (the good kind!) included a banana baked oatmeal bar, a Rice Krispie berry lemon cake bar (pictured on the right), pizza pockets (pictured on the left), and classic pizza (pictured in the middle).
All this mixing, baking, and taste-testing is part of our mission to bring more tasty, homemade entrée options to our students. Sure, not every experiment is a winner—but the successes have been really good, and the creativity never stops.

This activity is part of our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program and helps students practice real-world communication skills while exploring postsecondary and career options.
Seeing colleges respond makes the process real and exciting for students — and shows how initiative and professionalism pay off.

Maple Bar Morning = Huge Success! 🍁🍩
We served maple bars this morning and the students went wild for them! We served 131 breakfasts, the highest number we’ve served all year.
This special donut is made in-house with whole grain bread and meets USDA Nutrition Guidelines for breakfast—and it’s definitely a student favorite!
