• What does an Elementary School Counselor do?
School counseling at Mary M. Knight includes preparing all students for academic success, career aspirations and social emotional learning. School-wide programs focus on reinforcing positive behaviors, improving attendance, and increasing connectedness to school. The goal for all students is that they graduate from MMK with the skills to be productive citizens with a plan for life beyond high school.

    Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS)
Students earn Owl Eyes for behaviors in line with Ownership, Willingness and Leadership. Each K-6 class works together to earn Class Parties if their goal is met. Each Friday 1 student from each class is recognized and visit the Owl Treasure Box.
